A new puppy obviously needs a lot of preparation. Here you will find an extensive puppy checklist with things you may need before your puppy arrives, but also during the puppy adventure. The necessities are different for everyone, so there are also things on this list that are just nice to have.
Preparation
Very nice, isn't it, to go shopping for your (future) puppy! These items are nice to have in advance in preparation for all the preparations!
- Book about the breed / puppy book
- Plush toy / cloth for in the litter
- Shirt with scent
- Whoofbox puppy milestone cards | Visit our shop

Sleeping
Of course, puppies still sleep a lot, and that's why you want to make their naps as comfortable as possible! Of course, you can choose whether you use a bench or another place to sleep. In the last case, Delete “bench” for everything in the list. If your pup has just been with you for a few days, you can make them feel comfortable by laying down a plush toy with the scent of the litter. After a while, you could also put a shirt with your scent with your pup.
- Bench
- Bench pillow
- Bench blanket / small pillow
- Bench divider
- Dog bed / dog pillow
- Shirt with scent / plush toy with litter scent

Care
Some dog breeds require a little more grooming than others. Yet there are many things they all need. To get your puppy used to you touching him/her, massage the ears, touch the paws often, and check his or her teeth regularly. It is very useful to have a puppy bag ready, especially at the beginning, for when you go away together. This way you don't have to pack the puppy bag every time.
- Water blower + ear protection
- Puppy trainingpads
- Shampoo + conditioner
- Towels
- Puppy brush
- tick pen
- urine remover
- Collar / Harness + tag
- Leash (towing line long & short)
- Car blanket
- Poop bags
- Wet dog wipes
- LED light evening walk
- Nail clippers
- Treats bag
- Poop bag holder
- puppy carrier
- EHBO-kit
- Dog seal belt
- Flea comb
- Puppy bag for on the road
- Anti-slip bath / shower mat
- Deworming (vet)
- Anti ticks (vet)

Playtime
It is fun to stock up on baskets full of toys and plush toys for your pup, but that is not necessary. It's fun and exciting to offer a few toys one week and other toys the next week. This keeps all toys interesting. Puppies also often like the 'house and garden toys'. This can be a cardboard box, a rope or a bottle. (Watch out for sharp parts).
- Toys / plush toys
- Chewing toys
- Bal
- Toys basket
- Dog pool
- Mindgames
- puppy gate
- Gauze to shield your precious plants

Food
To make the food moment even more fun, you can give the food to your puppy in a kong or sniffing mat.
- Feeding bowl + drinking bowl
- Travel or foldable food / water bowl
- Kong
- Snuffle/sniffing mat
- Food
- Food storage bin
- Snacks
- Chewing bone/bars
- Training treats

Arrange
There are also things that need to be arranged. For example, before your puppy arrives, I would look for a vet and puppy school. There is often no place at short notice, and it would be nice if you could go there as soon as your puppy arrives!
- Vet
- Puppyschool
- Pet insurance / money jar
- Trimmer
- Register puppy chip
